Telemedicine Terms of Service

Telemedicine Rules & Regulations
Telemedicine should only be conducted within an existing veterinary-client-patient-relationship (VCPR), except for advice given in an emergency until a patient can be seen by a veterinarian, according to state and federal law. A current VCPR is defined by a Pet Wellness Clinic veterinarian performing a physical examination on the patient within the past 12-18 months. In the absence of that relationship and/or without a current VCPR, any advice provided through electronic means will be general and not specific to a patient, diagnosis, or treatment, except for emergency teletriage, including poison control services. The veterinarian with the VCPR has professional discretion to confer with specialist or consultants as needed.

Credentials of Advise Givers
Pet Wellness Clinic customer specialists will coordinate your telemedicine consultation with one of our local licensed veterinarians. Pet Wellness Clinic licensed veterinarians’ availability varies on their appointment schedule so if you want a specific Doctor, please give us a call or email clientservices@petwellnessclinics.com.

Consultation Fees & Information
Consultations are only $38.50 and last approximately 10 minutes. For more involved cases that require an extended consultation, there may be additional charges. If a diagnosis is unable to be made during your consultation for $38.50, a $15 credit will be applied to your exam & consultation when scheduled at one of our convenient locations within the 5 days following your telemedicine consultation.

Unlimited 10-minute telemedicine consultations are included at no charge for patients that are Pet Prime Members. Click here for more information about Pet Prime Memberships.

If you are a new client, and have not visited any of our Pet Wellness Clinic locations, we offer a free initial 10 minute telemedicine consultation. These consultations will be limited to general information due to the absence of the VCPR referenced above. It is important to understand that there are limitations to what can be diagnosed through a telemedicine consultation as there is no physical exam being conducted on the patient.

Treatments & Medications
Treatments and medications will be available to be scheduled or picked up at any of our Pet Wellness Clinic locations within the 48 hours following your telemedicine consultation. If treatment or medications are not received in the following 48 hours, a follow up consultation will be required at an additional cost.
